Keeper of Memories
Tone Prøis Tynning
b. 1960
Tone was born in 1960 as the eldest of the three daughters of Torstein Tynning and Solveig Prøis Tynning, and grew up at Søndre Valler while her father sat in Parliament and her mother led Norwegian sport from the boardrooms. In 1991 she took over the farm from her father, and has since bought out her sisters, so that Søndre Valler remains in the family's hands — the third generation since Lasse bought it in 1928.
Today Tone works at Tveten school, the same school where her grandmother Åshild taught for thirty years and her aunt Bjørg for forty-nine. Three generations of Tynning women at the same desk. She is the mother of Lars and Elise Tynning Hansen, and within the family she is the one who keeps the memories, stories and traditions of Søndre Valler alive.
